I've been to the website where they have the forms and all, but I didn't find information on how to register both the text and the images in a website. Should they be registered separately?
Also, who would own which parts of the website? By this, I mean, should the website's developer copyright the code used to create the website and should the client copyright the text and images displayed?
What if the developer created images for the site?

If a Website developer did your site for you, it's probably already copyrighted by them.
Ask them the same question.
Reply:Any piece of art, literature or in your case a website when made by and individual becomes his copyright automatically without any registration. It will last throughout that persons lifetime and 60 years hence. But it is mandatory to display the copyright symbol.
Reply:I don't know about canada but in the us images are automatically copyrighted to the photographer/artist without you doing anything, it might be the same there.
